    Industrialist Ratan Tata flew a 20 mins sortie in a twin seat F-16 fighter jet of the US Air Force at the Yelankha Air Base near Bangalore.

    Bangalore, 09 Feb 2007 (Sawf News) - Industrialist Ratan Tata today flew a 20 mins sortie in a twin seat F-16 fighter jet of the US Air Force at the Yelankha Air Base near Bangalore.

    The F-16 had flown in from the Misawa AFB in Japan for participation in Aero India 2007 air show.

    After two hours of briefing and medical checkups, Ratan Tata finally took off at 1:45 PM. During the 20 mins sortie Tata, 69, reportedly touched a top speed of Mach 1.32.

    On his return Tata said, "Oh it was exhilarating...tremendously exciting...I will do it again any time."

    He sure will. Ratan Tata is scheduled to fly a F-18 tomorrow!

    Good! there are nice chances of F-16 purchased by shelling out billions of rupees(collected from honest tax payers) to fill up our hangar. Instead we can try to source the same engine & guidance system for our LCA.

    next year by the same time. he will get even more excited if he gets a chance to fly in F23, JSF(F-35) & Eurofighter. F-16 is very old in US inventory and a deal is already striken to modernise its fleet with JSF, which will be jointly manufactured by Boeing(fuselage aft) & Lockheed martin(main fuselage).
